Textbook Selection Guidelines

The cost of textbooks and educational materials has increased in recent years to the point that they represent a significant part of students’ educational expenses. Concern over the costs of course materials has led to both federal and state legislation and to Higher Education Policy Commission and Academic Affairs policies concerning textbook affordability.

In the spirit of the Higher Education Opportunity Act, and our own campus guidelines http://www.latech.edu/administration/policies-and-procedures/2220.shtml your campus bookstore currently offers many cost saving options including used books, digital books, loose-leaf and customized textbooks through our publishing partners and the ability for students to rent, saving them over 50% off the new print selling price.  Check with your local bookstore team to see what options are available for the title(s) you are considering.
