As textbook prices continue to soar, students are looking for affordable alternatives, which they are finding in the way of used, rental, and digital textbooks. With students purchasing more rentals than ever, publishers are having a hard time keeping up, and are turning to a new economic model. "The industry is on the brink of a significant transition from print to digital," says Jade Roth, vice president of textbooks for Barnes & Noble College.
